Sail aboard our custom designed replicas of a traditional American sailing craft known as a “Skipjack”. Our boats are custom built replicas of a type of American sailing craft called a Skipjack. Skipjacks were originally designed and built to dredge oyster beds in the Chesapeake Bay region during the late 19th century. In the early 1900s, Skipjacks were sailed down to the Florida Keys to work in the sponging and cargo hauling industries, and primarily as “Wrecking Schooners”, which were boats that raced out to salvage the many very profitable wrecks that went aground upon the reef and shallow waters off the Keys.
