Kids have always struck me as wonderful creatures full of potential and joy; partnering in guiding them to new skills, knowledge, and confidence in themselves as they interact with the world is a particular delight. Beginning in my teens, I have had the opportunity to work with children of varying abilities in formal educational settings, respite care programs, as a children’s ministry director to over 200 kids, and as a homeschooling mom to my own four children (one of whom is diagnosed with high-functioning autism and secondary ADHD). What I have learned in those many years of experience instructing both typical and atypical students is that each student is uniquely capable. Each learner is an individual learner.
